The Huckabee quote pointed to in this link doesn’t seem right — some of the money will go to China, but much of it will pad the pockets of the US and international companies making the real profits, the ones who pay Chinese workers nothing and reap the financial benefits of cheap labor. In any case, it’s still a stupid idea. The US government is emulating the behavior that gets so many individuals into trouble: spending money that does not exist. Loans must eventually be paid, either by yourself or everyone else, even if you’re the US government.
