Finding an Apartment
Finding a new place to live, especially when you’re on a budget, is no fun. Nope. This is especially true when the place you’re looking is 3900 miles away. I know it would/will be easier to do things once I actually get there — I can go visit places, meet potential roommates/landlords in person, make phone calls more easily because there won’t be the four-hour time difference — but I’m scared that I’ll show up and have nowhere to stay. The Denali Lodges crew said they have a room I could stay in for a few days until I find a place, which is very nice of them, but still… I’m a little worried.
I posted a “room wanted” ad on Craigslist, but I haven’t had too many responses to that. Maybe I’ll just have to bite the bullet and pay a lot more money to rent an apartment of my own.
Anyone have good tips on how to find good housing in the Wasilla, Alaska, area?
