I’ve been alone for a few hours, it’s late, and I’ve been watching a deep, beautiful, disturbing film (Herzog’s Nosferatu
I do/don’t have a problem. I’m interested in everything, and I’m good at learning new things. In fact, I’d say learning about new things and doing something interesting with them is my best skill. While this skill o’ mine is great for being a semi-interesting person and leading an intellectually fulfilling life, it’s not the most marketable thing in the world. And really, how could it be? What company or entity or person or whatever wants to pay me good money to learn about whatever I want, travel to interesting places, take pictures, make short movies, write music, post my feelings, show others interesting things on the internet, etc.?
But what if I could somehow make a living doing all those things? I really don’t need/want much money. In fact, if I got to travel around just the good old US of A, let alone the rest of the world, and be a poor blogging techno-hippie bum, that’d be just fine by me. Would it be possible to make enough money through a combination of donations and advertisements on this site? What type of content would I need to offer to really draw enough meaningful traffic to get this done?
