It’s been awhile.
I haven’t touched this blog because:
- I’ve been writing in my journal nearly every day.
- I’m often without electricity/computers/internet access.
- I’ve made many great friends and am socially content.
I’ll come back to this eventually but don’t know when.
July has flown by. I:
- spent 3 days camping/sunning/playing in Talkeetna
- hiked across the Muldrow Glacier (pictures sometime)
- paddled around Otto Lake
- took a trip to Fairbanks
- guided seminars on birds, dinosaurs, large mammals, and wolves
Only 6 weeks until the season ends!
Fall’s beginning to show—some species of willow are losing their leaves, berries are nearly ripe, a new crispness is in the air, it’s getting almost-dark at night.
I have a 5-day trip to McGonagall Pass with friends planned for mid-August, a 4-day weekend to do something exciting, and 4 other “regular” weekends.
Mid-September will bring the end of another season in Denali, time with family, packing, a cross-country drive, and the beginning of a new stage (grad school, ya’ll).
I’ve kept up with my dashboard and continue to enjoy everyone’s stories, pictures, music, and words. Thanks for sharing them.
And for my friends scattered across the world: I miss you. Let’s stumble across each other this winter.
